Legal Counsel / General Counsel

Your Responsibilities
Are you a legal expert and tech enthusiast? Looking for an opportunity to apply and expand your skills and take ownership for all legal matters at a successful tech scale-up?

Join us as our first internal legal expert and take full ownership of all legal matters as Legal Counsel/ General Counsel. You will draft, prepare and negotiate contracts and other legal documents with our resellers and partners. Data protection and staying up to date will be one of the most important aspects in your position as you will own internal data protection processes and continuously work to improve our legal framework (Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement, Data Protection Policies etc.). You will directly liaise with customers regarding legal questions, compliance, data subject requests and vendor evaluation forms. Finally, you will identify and summarize legal risks, and develop solutions to address them. By collaborating with other departments as well as with external lawyers and authorities, you will excel in your position.
Requirements
  • You hold a law degree and have 3+ years work experience, ideally in a legal role in a fast-paced environment or tech startup
  • You are an expert in civil law, especially experienced in & interested in contract law, data protection law (such as the GDPR, the CCPA and other international/local regulation), IT law, IP law, as well as corporate law
  • You have a strong interest in and understanding of technical topics, and you aim to understand the technical side of data protection and data security
  • You have excellent fundamental knowledge in legal affairs as well as a very good economic understanding and consistently find pragmatic solutions fast
  • You are fluent in German and English both in written and spoken form, and are not afraid of using your legal English skills
  • You display strong attention to detail and apply a hands-on mentality to your work
  • You are a very process driven person and continuously work to improve existing processes
